Open Evening 2026

What a Night at South Wigston High School!

On Thursday 17 September, South Wigston High School threw open its doors for our Open Evening, and what a turnout it was! Families arrived in their hundreds, the corridors were buzzing and there was something to see around every corner.

Our Principal, Sara Fletcher, kicked things off with a warm welcome. She shared what makes South Wigston such a brilliant place to learn and what families can look forward to when they join us. There were plenty of smiles and nodding heads in the room, and more than a few parents made a beeline to say hello afterwards.

Then it was time to explore! Science experiments fizzed and popped, and our creative spaces were full of colour. Every department had something hands-on for visitors to try. Our staff went above and beyond, and they made sure every family felt right at home.

The real stars of the show were our learners. They led tours with energy and confidence, answered every question thrown their way and gave our visitors a true taste of life at South Wigston. We could not have been prouder of them.
